Kelly Clarkson takes belting to a new level on her cover of this Third Eye Blind song.

Kelly Clarkson finally did what her "Since U Been Gone"-era fans have been waiting for: cover a classic alt-rock hit!

On October 20th, the singer hit the stage for a special rendition of "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind. She completely transformed the tune into her own creation

Clarkson started off the performance with just her vocals and an acoustic guitar. "Wish you could step back from that ledge my friend."

You didn't want to see me, did you?” she asked. “Then that's fine. I just want you to be happy."

“Well, everyone I know has got a reason to say, put the past away” is sung by Meghan Trainor with emotion before she belts her heart out. Her guitar solo then comes in.

After the song was over, Clarkson explained that she wrote it in honor of the LGBTQ+ community.

Clarkson, her band, and her audience were all wearing the color purple for Spirit Day on Oct. 20th. This event takes place to stand up against youth bullying in the LGBTQ+ community, and to show support for their cause.
