Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Returns to Switzerland
After 36 years, the Eurovision Song Contest is coming back to where it all began—Switzerland! From May 12 to 17, 2025, Basel will come alive. The entire country will experience the magic of the world’s largest music event.
In a recent press conference in Basel, the Eurovision Project Team unveiled the stage design. They presented the visual and audio branding. They shared ticketing details. They also introduced the national partners for the highly anticipated 69th Eurovision Song Contest.
Visual and Audio Brand Identity
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest branding was designed by Art Director Artur Deyneuve. He aimed to create a concept that fosters connection. It also promotes exclusivity. Deyneuve drew inspiration from Switzerland’s tradition of direct democracy.
He chose listening as the central theme for the branding. This idea is encapsulated in the motto Unity Shapes Love.
If we listen to one another, we find love, says Deyneuve. This message is visually represented by the iconic Eurovision heart symbol, which will take center stage in the branding. Pulsating with rhythm, the heart symbolizes dialogue, unity, and the universal power of music to connect millions of people worldwide.
Moritz Stadler and Reto Peritz, Co-Executive Producers of Eurovision 2025, shared their excitement:
Artur’s design is emotionally engaging. It elevates Eurovision to a whole new level.
The Eurovision heart, beating in time with the music, captures the spirit of unity and celebration that defines this event.
A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity in Audio
The audio identity for Eurovision 2025 blends tradition with contemporary beats, creating an unforgettable soundscape. A bold, energetic track features iconic Swiss elements.
These include yodeling, Basel drum corps rhythms, and the distinctive tones of the Hackbrett and alphorns.
We’ve created a high-energy audio experience with surprising twists, says Deyneuve. It’s a sound that will prepare the audience for an unforgettable celebration.
Stage Design: Inspired by Switzerland’s Mountains and Diversity
Renowned Production Designer Florian Wieder, a creative visionary with Swiss roots, is behind the innovative stage design for Eurovision 2025.
Drawing inspiration from Switzerland’s breathtaking mountains and its linguistic diversity, Wieder has crafted a revolutionary stage concept at Basel’s St. Jakobshalle.
Our goal was to create an immersive experience like never before, says Wieder. This ‘signature stage’ will forever be linked to Switzerland and Eurovision history.
Co-Executive Producers Peritz and Stadler added: Florian Wieder’s vision captures the essence of Switzerland. His groundbreaking design will bring fans closer to the magic of Eurovision than ever before.
