Through the years, MasterChef Australia has produced culinary superstars with a unique passion for food that has the power to transform and inspire.
The eagerly awaited season of MasterChef Australia will feature mouthwatering fare and a feast of flavours, but there will also be plenty of surprises when the competition for the title of MasterChef Australia 2023 gets underway.
One more little-known fact: this year, only 18 of the nation’s most dedicated amateur chefs will compete for the coveted aprons.

This season of MasterChef was shot with judges Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo, and Melissa Leong. George Calombaris, Matt Preston, and Gary Mehigan, who served as judges for ten years, were replaced in 2020 by food critic Melissa, celebrated chef Jock, and Andy, a past MasterChef champion.
More about the Show
Get your aprons ready, Disney+ Hotstar advised on Twitter as it posted a poster for the forthcoming season featuring three judges: Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong, and Andy Allen—the new season of #MasterChefAU, featuring top-secret sauces and unexpected ingredients, premieres on May 2.
The MasterChef Australia Season 15 trailer was also shared on social media by Disney+ Hotstar. Three potential participants explore a maze in the video’s opening scene as As Somewhere Only We Know by Keane plays in the background.
In the following image, Melissa can be seen calling the competitors to follow her while donning a red gown. Jock also enters the maze while holding a book; he nods to the camera before vanishing from view.

After then, the contestants can be seen frantically stumbling around in an aerial shot of the maze. They are directed in the appropriate path by an arrow that has the words “follow the apron” printed on it.
The trailer continues, “Get ready for surprises around every corner,” as Mellisa holds a huge key and Jock raises a cloche. With balloons in his hand, Andy also makes an appearance.
Following a trail of cupcakes, the contenders eventually arrive at a large table where the judges are waiting for them. The caravan ends with the group of people eating a filling lunch.
The maze changes into the MasterChef logo as the words “A season full of secrets and surprises” emerge on the screen.
In this season of the cooking reality series MasterChef Australia: Secrets & Surprises, there will be 18 aprons up for grabs. Renowned chefs will present the competitors with difficult tasks, making the competition more intense than ever.
