Strictly Come, Dancing Contestants, 2023 – Strictly is coming back later this year and now we’ve confirmed the first celebs to hit the dance floor. The BBC has begun announcing the cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 and now that five celebrities have been revealed the contestants are shaping up well.
Comedian Jayde Adams was the fifth name to come forward and appear on BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday 6 August to announce their involvement.
She follows radio host Richie Anderson and Loose Women star Kaye Adams, who were announced on Friday, August 5, as well as actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, whose first names were announced the day before.
The five will go dancing. Boden later this fall in hopes of lifting the Glitterball, with several more names to be announced in due course.
As always, they need to impress the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel, which this year will include Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke following Bruno’s departure in early 2023.
Last year, EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis was crowned Season 19 winner alongside her professional dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
Four new dancers were added to the professional contestants that year.
Champion Carlos Gu, former UK U21 national champion Lauren Oakley and Latin dance champion Michelle Tsiakkas have all signed up for the upcoming race, making it the largest number of professional contestants in Strictly history.
With the show’s 20th season, we’re hoping the BBC will do everything it can to make it a memorable one, starting with an A-list cast.
So far we’ve only confirmed two celebrities, but rumours of Steph McGovern, footballer Peter Crouch, Gino D’Acampo and Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley attending are currently in full swing.

Jayde Adams –
